Pre-cook potatoes in boiling hot water for about 20 min.

Preheat the electric oven to 200 °C. Peel the onions, cut into strips with the bacon and roast in a coated frying pan. Wrap the potatoes in aluminum foil and cook in the oven for another 20 – half an hour (electric and natural gas oven: 200 °C/level 4, convection oven 180 °C). Finely dice cornichons, mix with cream cheese, curd cheese and mustard and season with salt, pepper and sugar. Cut potatoes crosswise, press apart a little bit, put cornichon cream on top and bring to the table with onion-bacon-mix as topping. Garnish with dill as desired.
