A cake recipe for all foodies:
Mix flour and baking powder and sift onto the table top. Make a well in the center. Put sugar, a pinch of salt, eggs and milk in it and make a thick porridge with some of the flour. Butter in small flakes on the porridge form and cover with a little flour. Knead quickly from the center to form a smooth dough. Shape dough into a ball and rest in a baking bowl with the lid closed in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Roll out dough on a floured plate to about 3 cm thick. Using a pastry wheel, wheel out strips about 10 cm long and 2 cm wide. Score the dough strips in the middle. Pull one end through this opening to make a loose knot or loop. Bake in deep-frying fat heated to 180 °C for about 6 minutes, dry on paper towel and serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
